Suggestion about styles in error alert for data validation #283

This feedback came in to us via email:

This contribution is to provide substantive feedback on data organization in spreadsheets for Ecologists, Quality Control. On this section there are four subsections; quality Assurance, Quality control, sorting and conditional formatting. The quality assurance starts with data validation. This section has been elaborated neatly but I would suggest if the section could discuss the difference of the “styles” in the “error alert” tab more deeply rather than putting it one sentence. Since not every “style” would not restrict you from entering a wrong data (“warning” just gives you information about your invalid entry but would not stop it from being entered) adding two or three more sentences describing the difference of each could be helpful for researchers.

Hi @maneesha I agree. This is insufficient. I'll put together an example from a sequencing sample sheet where at least two of the "Style" options can be applied functionally.

EDIT: Actually, It would be better to NOT start working on another spreadsheet, so some text to clear up the issue is warranted at minimum.

This and other issues may be addressed in issue #296
