What do you mean by ranking?

ranking is a column I have on my dataset that refers to a score given by a relative position based on high school grades

is it possible to calculate that instead of ingesting the value into the DB? If so, how?

Nope :( If and only if we have the scores of all the students of a classroom, yes. But we don't have that or a way to classify, for example, the students of 4th grade belonging to class A,B,C (one school can have more than one class per level)
