Wonderful data!

I was wondering: do you happen to have the source material this was created from and can that be published or are there copyright issues? Specifically, I was looking to combine scene headings to better understand who has interacted with whom, which is somewhat possible with the addressed field.

And any update for Rise of Skywalker?

Hi @visnup! We compiled the data by essentially transcribing each movie, taking notes on who each character was addressing in the scene or conversation.

We're not sure if we can manage another intense watch for Rise of Skywalker...

Hah, good to know! I recently spent a bunch of time hand-parsing the scripts I could find. Not as accurate as this data, but includes scene headers and action descriptions which is fun.

And a big mess of exploration too: https://observablehq.com/@visnup/star-wars

Possibly interesting angle based on the LA times article would be the action vs. dialogue exploration in that notebook: image

Anyway, feel free to close this issue!
