Standardise dfc-b:Address:hasCountry #130

Should we have an enumerated list of Countries for Address ?

If not how are we mandating that platforms standardise country names /ISO codes ?

RaggedStaff commented 4 months ago

We should also consider other Address fields (e.g. PostalCode, Region). This could get very big very fast, if we included all countries, but maybe we could just include data (below country level) for countries with active implementations ? 🤔

I looked into this in that past but I forgot now where I got to. I think that referencing ISO standards is enough. But we need to be precise about which format we are referring to. There are two-letter codes, three-letter codes and full names in English and French.

And on states again, we have Victoria and VIC. Or the ISO code AU-VIC. The display may depend on the locale of the user. We need a robust identifier in the standard and then applications can resolve that with other databases.
