I wrote to the LOV team as I don't understand anything about how to publish on this website : https://lov.linkeddata.es/dataset/lov/, it is definitely not for non tech people... if one of you understand @simonLouvet or others please let me know, else I wait for their answer.

Dear @myriamboure, thanks for your email! I've seen it on our mailbox :) Submitting to LOV should not be complicated. As long as you have a URI for your vocabulary, use this link https://lov.linkeddata.es/dataset/lov/suggest to submit your vocabulary. Our team with review it based and upload it in LOV. You can also check this document for adding metadata (if needed) in your ontology have a FAIR ontology :)

Thank you @gatemezing for your inputs ! I'll check that with @simonLouvet and hopefully will understand as a non tech what we need to do :-)

To do : ask Thomas to create URI under datafoodconsortium domain. He needs access to domain management interface (OVH)

gatemezing commented 5 years ago

Yes, it's better to have the ontology under your namespace. You might have something like this in Turtle syntax: https://gist.github.com/gatemezing/3110f63d1d182c2a55c7481484799309

Status : we asked Bernard to change the ontology domain as it was under virtual assembly and I added Thomas to the datafoodconsortium domain management space so that he can create the uri there. WIP

Alright: this is not a domain issue, but a server issue. We don't know currently if the current server is able to do content negociation.

I'm closing this as I opened https://github.com/datafoodconsortium/ontology/issues/10 to follow the publication on LOV. Github repo is up-to-date :muscle:

@gatemezing it took us some time but I just submitted http://datafoodconsortium.org/ontologies/DFC_FullModel.owl on the link you shared. I hope it is ok, if you see anything wrong don't hesitate to comment on https://github.com/datafoodconsortium/ontology/issues/10. Then I'll be curious about the update process, we will very likely update this ontology as we go, what is the process then ? Cheers and thanks for your help and review !

Two questions emerged @gatemezing after I did this first submission : we have three uri, the full model refers to the two other ones. Do we need to submit the three uri or can LOV "follow the links" from the full model URI ? http://datafoodconsortium.org/ontologies/DFC_BusinessOntology.owl http://datafoodconsortium.org/ontologies/DFC_FullModel.owl http://datafoodconsortium.org/ontologies/DFC_ProductGlossary.owl

Also I saw when uploading there was nothing in the title and description, I guess we need to add them for the submission to be accepted... right ?

We have moved discussion to the other discussion so don't hesitate to join :-) https://github.com/datafoodconsortium/ontology/issues/10

Thanks !
