datafruits homepage #10

there are differing opinions on what the homepage of datafruits.fm page should be and I didn't want it to fizzle out on discord sooooo heres a ticket. Currently when you go to the site it will show the upcoming shows and latest podcasts. This appears to be good enough for now, but there are requests to make the chat component the first thing you see when navigating to datafruits.fm Let's share our thoughts here so we can weigh the pros/cons of each approach 📊

Directly to the chat is what @azaxxii mentioned and that does seem convenient because I think we can all agree that the chatroom is kind of the main attraction on the site. @mcfiredrill mentioned that not everyone who arrives on DF knows what it is (I have been told by some people from here that they didn't quite get what it was all about straight away after linking to the /chat), so that's one thing and the chatroom isn't always active so using that as the home page might not be the best of ideas.

I think the webpage actually looks good and is pretty intuitive, but I know there may be people who aren't used to going on websites like this or even other radio stations so maybe some things could be even more intuitive/obvious imo.

I like how radio nopal looks very simple at the top and you get more stuff as you scroll down.

Dublab also looks very "minimal" and apparently doesn't have much besides the stream. You can start the stream by clicking anywhere and there's a little "tune in" text that follows the cursor. I've seen people having to explain how to start the stream in the DF chatroom sometimes so maybe there can be a way for that to be more "in your face".

Suggestion 1 >> I think the top part of the home page could maybe be a static picture or video and the upcoming shows, podcasts and events could be below that as you scroll down.

Suggestion 2 >> Maybe there could be a "tune in" or "click here" text next to the play button so it's super obvious that that's where you have to go to get the sound going.

Suggestion 3 >> The nickname selection thing could be on the home page, perhaps on top of the static image/video I previously mentioned.

So that's what I have for now! From my point of view it'd be cool if we could make it super duper obvious how to start the stream and navigate around the site. And a big static picture or video looks a little less cluttered at the beginning, for me at least :)
