Pakdot was created for a 8x8 display. There was no room for walls. Pakdot scans 1 pixel around his location, looking for the next dot to eat or a ghost to run away from.
On a larger screen with walls this is causing a very jittery pakdot, which is not pleasing to the eye. Poor little guy keeps getting stuck.
Replace the code that does the scanning with code developed in later games such as Outbreak. Let him see X pixels down a path and make a better decision whether to eat or run.
