#1414: Usage Analysis

Usage Analysis (UA) app provides convenient UI for analyzing platform usage, including sessions, events, packages, errors, and more.

Here are some of the typical questions that the application answers:

• Usage summary (#unique users, new users, etc)
• Who is using a particular package?
• What does a particular user/group use?
• Which errors were reported recently? Are they known or new errors? Is there a pattern to a specific error? Can I see complete session log?
• Can I see a complete log for any session?
• What are the parameters of the particular event?
• What are the most popular actions for the package of interest?

Important features

• User-friendly, intuitive UI
• Global filter on group, date range, and package
• Routing
• Ability to report an error to a tracker (github?)

Performance considerations

• The UA widget should load really fast; likely, both server- and client- side caching would be needed
• We might need to speed up the database by adding indexes, if necessary
