should note use of '--hex-blob' and possibly charactersets in mysqldump in the server discussion
basically: binary character values in some blobs can confuse the SQL parser on dump/restore. we don't really document backups but having notes for mysqldump specifically probably makes sense since it's the defacto 'default backup' solution for mysql
