(This is a rework of PR #75 on top of PR #74) Obsoletes #75

A number of small changes that generally try to put intention description/motivation in front of implementation and to reduce technical details

Feel free to ignore all, since I might not be completely aware of the mental DataLad model that is shared by the long-term members of the team and which is undoubtedly underlying the structure and phrasing of the paper.
