Background

In her writeup of remote considerations here, @hancush included this item:

atom and vs code have extensions to enable simultaneous editing of code, like google docs. kavya likes teletype for atom.

While DataMade staff do some remote pairing over video, we don't currently use any of these real time code collaboration tools.

Proposal / Deliverables

I'd like to spend some investment time looking into the possibilities here and see if one of these tools, either text editor-specific or more generalizable, might be useful to our workflows. I'll write up my findings in this issue, and proceed with a recommendation of adoption if appropriate.

Timeline

I expect this to take between a half and full investment day.
