DataMade social media accounts for client projects #172

In our launch checklist, we include steps to set up social media previews for client projects. At the moment, we are setting these up on individuals' social media accounts. It would be better to consolidate these under DataMade social media accounts instead.

@fatima3558 will take a look to see what steps, if any, require you to create an account. Let's note that an account is required for any relevant steps in the site launch checklist.

Going to the Facebook & Twitter validation links in the site launch checklist, without being logged into accounts, and took screenshots of the pages. Both Facebook & Twitter required me to log in:

Other than the login, for facebook specifically, I had to register apps under a developer account. There is a twitter developer account you can apply for, but I didn't need one in order to make the twitter cards work. For facebook app registration, my account picture is visible in the top right corner here:

There are generic metatags that we can test in Slack, and that Twitter and Facebook will fall back to in the absence of their special metatags. Update the site launch checkilst to add metatags and test in Slack and optionally test on Twitter/Facebook if the developer has accounts / wants to tap another staff to test. Also confirm there is a link to site launch check list in how to, and add if not.

I found this tool while testing crp: https://socialsharepreview.com/

it checks for facebook and twitter tags without requiring an account for either.

todo: update site launch checklist to point to this resource instead of facebook and twitter dev tools

@fatima3558 I use https://metatags.io/ for checking the tags and have it documented in the site launch checklist - looks like it does the same thing as social share preview

ah, must have missed it when I took a look at the checklist. this seems good to close, then, @derekeder?
