Another analytics platform we've used is Matomo.

I've wired up Matomo for ChiBlockBuilder. I'll confirm the aggregate data is flowing tomorrow, then request a review. I've added my creds to our trial account to the team LastPass.

So far, I'm finding the UI much easier to use than Google Analytics, with the developer experience being equal to slightly better due to thorough but approachable documentation.

An annual subscription to hosted Matomo is about $20/month. We could also self-host for free, though that may come with admin costs. While this is more expensive than Google Analytics, I'd prefer to pay in dollars rather than our users' data. 🤷‍♀️

@hancush to write some documentation about using this in other projects. we'll start with new sites first and consider adding it to older sites next.
