When a committee files some kind of report that shares a reporting period begin or end with another report and both reports have overlapping itemized expenditures and receipts, this means we are double counting them.
Example is Quinn/Simon for IL where they filed a Pre-Election report that covers July - October 2010 and also filed a Final report which covers July - December 2010. You can see the duplicate entries here: http://illinoissunshine.org/donations/?date=2010-09-01
Our queries that generate the condensed_receipts and condensed_expenditures views only cover the case where an amended report is filed, not where overlapping reports of different types are filed.
