Steps to reproduce the bug

Open a bar plot

Observed Behavior

Even though the bars are very wide and there is enough horizontal space, the labels get truncated after a few characters.

Expected Behavior

Add a sensible ellipsis function, combined with a sensible minimum width for the plot
