Author

Help text says "dataset" where it should say "responsible". Change to:

The name and email address of the person who is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining the data.

Data Last Updated On

Help text could be better worded. Change to:

The date on which the data snapshot on data.wa.gov.au was last updated

keithmoss commented 5 years ago

Moved from https://github.com/datawagovau/ckanext-datawagovautheme/issues/18.

Ping @florianm re wording of "data last updated on". How's that sound to you? (Yes, it's about the data snapshot itself - not the metadata)

florianm commented 5 years ago

Maybe my initial working of "data snapshot" is too specific as it introduces another concept (snapshot).

How about "the main data resource"? Explicitly mentioning the CKAN slang "resource" might point the metadata maintainer to the attached files or links. Specifying "main" data resource might help clarify that it's about the "data" data, not the other attached resources (scripts, derivatives, documentation, links).

🤔

Try these on for sizes:

The date on which the main data resource on data.wa.gov.au was last updated The date on which the main data resources on data.wa.gov.au were last updated The date on which the main data files on data.wa.gov.au were last updated

The first one makes most sense to me as it focuses the user on "the one" (not several) main data resource. Calling it a data "resource" uses existing CKAN jargon with a corresponding heading - possibly clearer than "files".

(Brittle assumption: users stuck here are able and willing to read the help text.)
