Long term there are a number of issues that need to be addressed with running and operating Loom, for example, how to manage Loom configuration data such as usernames and passwords. I have preferences for how configuration management ought to be done, but every user is likely to have divergent opinions and existing practices and technologies in place.
The immediate goal then is that we get Loom baked into an Amazon EC2 AMI. A runnable AMI is the most basic distributable artifact we can offer for EC2 users and it enable them to build any level of automation around it as desired.
Catch-all Issue for AWS Deployment Design
AWS deployment is something we would like to simplify and automate for Loom. At a minimum we would like to provide an Amazon Machine Image ("AMI") that can be deployed easily as an EC2 instance, however we're also interested in soliciting feedback for more comprehensive automated deployment such as Terraform or Cloudformation templates.
