feedback 2024.04.03 Great work. Very short and precise worklog.

Main feedback is to:

  1. focus a lot on linking. This is one of the most important parts. Being able to click on any of the outputs/wireframes/components and being able to see all related and pre-decessor outputs/wireframes/components and when clicking to see them, those also will have all these links, so you can quickly click your way all the way back to the beginning, to the initial inputs, the old non-figma pdf wireframes and images...

  2. unrelated to the specific worklog above - maybe an additional worlklog video to describe the "big picture" of this project:

    • what is this project about?
    • what do you know about it?
    • what has been done by toshi and handed over to you?
    • what is left to do?
    • what do you plan to do next?
    • and in which order do you plan to do the rest?

Great second worklog as well. Again, previous feedback applies. Maybe add an extra task for very thorough linking and checking that all links are clickable and link to the right destination to make "tracing" possible. This requires some extra time and care to not link in the wrong way.

Again - the components in this specific second worklog would probably need to link to the figma but on top of that to the specific images/pdfs/etc.. which show the component and how it is used in the original non-figma wireframes.

the main goal of the entire task is to capture the old work in figma in this tracable/backlinkable way to make our life easier when we brainstorm/wireframe/implement future iterations/versions of the datdot apps :-)

Great work. Thank you also for the project state video.

For the wireframe components you make, hope it will also show the evolution using the split/merge technique if you come across a component which was replaced by another component in the future or split into many or multiple merged into 1 ... this happens in some places and you need to pay attention to the wireframes and how they change over different versions i guess.

You can always share in your worklogs how you decided to model things as splitting or merging from old to new components and then i can see it in the worklog video and give feedback.

Please also through toshis work and double check everything is properly linked up (including linking back to the pdfs, wireframes, images, ...etc... all the original source materials)

Please make an additional task which we will have to process at some point, maybe after you finish all the wireframe components from figjam, and that task is to make all work perfectly traceable from final components back through all the intermediate steps to the original input source materials

  1. to compare all the source materials in figma to the original source material OUTSIDE of figma. Those usually have github links as well (and when it comes to pdfs, it is possible to open them in the browser and modify the #.. fragment at the end of the url to even link to specific pdf pages.

  2. we also have adobe wireframes included in the original wireframes and i'm not entirely sure toshi processed those too. So we might need to do yet another round

  3. we also have old github issues, where we described components and versions, and those need to also be double checked.

Looks good. Let me know what toshi says regarding options for the figjam linking and let keep on doing the good work. great :-)

If you add link - and you plan to also link from e.g. figjam to the figma versioned component, then the difference between those links is:

  1. the link from figma version controlled component to figjam goes "back in time"
  2. the link from figjam component to version controlled component goes "forward in time"

We might have multiple links forward and backward for each component/figjam/pdf/etc...

The links that go back in time should be distinguishable from the links that go forward in time

Otherwise all great.

hope toshi will explain how we can update figjams. if it is not possible to update (which would be weird) ...we can just put the link outside next to the figjam components.

Let's just double check if there is ANY reason why we would need to move the figjam and if we think we will probably not need to move them, then maybe it is fine.

I guess you cant group a figjam component with the link that is being put next to it into one "logical group"? ...anyway.
