It would be nice to easily set a form model in auto-commit so that all changes 
are propagated to 
the model object instantly.

This has been fixed in trunk.  The auto-commit is a property of the 
BeanModelProvider
since (form fields are already effectively auto-commit).  Currently all the 
models
vended by the provider will share the same auto-commit status.
