Apple changed the way plug-ins work a while ago so the OS X version no longer
runs (it still works in older versions of Safari, just not newer ones). It
would need a complete rewrite to fix this.

If I were to use Google Crome, would that make a difference ? / Per Vestin

For the time being no. I wrote this originally before Chrome came out and
Safari had the largest market share. I will eventually get round to updating
it, I just don't know when.

GEFS.It does work with trial of MS Flight Simullator X.

one I already had)and it did work. However it came fom Cnet who loeased Mysearch
onto my machine even thought I said idi dnot want it.Therefore removed it and

Are you using this page for Google Earth:
http://earth-api-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/demos/interactive/index.html
Does the earlier test page work in IE?

No to qn 1.Yes to qn 2.
I am just using Google earth as I had downloaded before.
The joystick was recognised in IE but Google earth keeps telling me I need to
restart browser.I do to no avail.
All seems OK in Firefox now so I will stick with that as I don't use IE
normally.
Hope this helps you.

My joystick (Gamefactory model G60502A)also is not working with GEFS. I'm
running Firefox 33.0 in Windows 8.1 Home Edition. I've installed and
uninstalled the extension multiple times and restarted my PC even. The
joystick appears to be working when I visit the Settings section for the device
in the Windows Devices and Printers screen, it sees my inputs.

If you type about:plugins in the address bar, does the joystick plug-in show?
What happens if you go to the page in comment #7 above?

Hi, I have the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, and I am trying to use the
online GEFS and or the flight simulator on Google earth. Neither one is
allowing me to use this joystick, it seems that is not recognized by either on
of those programs. I also installed the joystick installer-0.6.3 and did not
seem to help. Any suggestions, Thank you.

It looks like plug-in support for your browser has either been blocked or
requires extra steps to activate. GEFS needs to either work around this or move
to the Game API.
You can check if the plug-in is installed by typing about:plugins in the
address bar.

Thank you for your suggestions, I re-installed Java Plug-in and it works,
somehow, when I installed the plug in from "installer-0.6.3" did not work or
did not install properly. anyways, it is up and running now. Thank you again.

Hello all..........things just get more odd here.
Last Xmas my son gave me a Thrustmaster joystick and it worked straight away.I
have not used it for may many months but now it is not recognised as was the
old Microsoft one.
I have re-installed the plug in and tried it on Firefox IE and Chrome all to no
avail.
Also re-installed latest Java itself.
In comment 16 where did you re-install the plug in from if not
"installer-0.6.3".
Does CW in 17 mean it will never fix as suggested in Status as there is no
actual comment in the item.
Looks like we need more explanation from 16 as you are in the lead here.
GEFS is great when it is working with joystick.
Best wishes to all

Closing the bug as 'WontFix' was specific to the Safari version for OS X.
If the plug-in fails to work on Windows due to recent browser changes, the
suggestions here should work:
https://code.google.com/p/javascript-joystick/issues/detail?id=21#c8
The Java plug-in isn't required; this plug-in is standalone. IE will need a
change from the GEFS guys to run, taking the updated script from here:
http://javascript-joystick.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/examples/javascript/joystick
.js

Thanks so much........I have just crashed into my own house here in Edinburgh
Scotland.
Tried in on Opera where it worked rather variably THEN.............
I went into the plug ins manager in Firefox as suggested and set the joystick
to always and hey presto !!!!
Folks on here are so helpful and I hope my experience will help others.
