Searches including a . return empty

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Search for a game in the website with a . in its name, such as E.V.O. -- it's 
not found despite existing in the database (searching for 'Eden' finds it).
2.The problem also affects the GetGamesAPI
3.The problem is intermitent: H.E.R.O. is found in the website, but not through 
the GetGamesAPI. No games containing special characters are currently being 
returned by the API.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Game to be found. Instead, no result returned.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Current, live.
