Investigating further, here's how to reproduce:
Create a nose with default parameter Change the shape to a blunted ogive Change the style to capped Switch to the part workbench and from the Part menu run Check Geometry You'll observe two disconnected shapes
This probably causes the base masking errors.
It only occurs when style is capped, with or without a shoulder. It also only occurs for a blunted ogive.
The revolved face was drawn using an incorrect endpoint.
This seems to be unique to a blunted ogive nose cone. Creating a cross cap or bar cap fuses the mask instead of cutting, resulting in an extra piece on the nose
