The current client page features pagination. We can set it to display 10 clients per page or 20 clients per page. Would you like to show only client names, or would you prefer to include additional details such as images and descriptions, similar to the format on the existing client page?
Let's try pagination of 10 and see what that looks like
I have added 4 / page to test
If you can provide images, Role, 'Collaboration with' and description for each client. I can add them to the page
Each client item would have information like this:
Client: Hillel Adesnik Institution: UC Berkeley Project: MouseV1 U19 Dates: 2023-06-01 to 2024-02-15 Blurb: Working with Dr. Hillel Adesnik's lab at UC Berkeley, we developed ndx-patterend-ogen, an NWB extension for holographic patterned optogenetic stimulation as part of the MouseV1 U19 project. We used this extension in a custom conversion pipeline, mousev1-to-nwb, converting data from their Nature Neuroscience 2024 paper, "The logic of recurrent circuits in the primary visual cortex."
Client: Misha Ahrens Institution: HHMI Janelia Research Campus Project: SCGB NWB Adoption Dates: 2022-01-01 to 2022-12-31 Blurb: Working with Misha Ahrens' lab at Janelia, we developed ahrens-lab-to-nwb, an open repo to convert data from their custom optical physiology acquisition system to NWB. This pipeline was used to standardize and publish the data associated with their Cell 2019 paper, "Glia Accumulate Evidence that Actions Are Futile and Suppress Unsuccessful Behavior." The NWB dataset is published on DANDI as DANDI:000350/0.221219.1506. The dataset contains 5.9 TB of optical physiology data from zebrafish.
Client: Richard Axel Institution: Columbia University Project: SCGB NWB Adoption Dates: 2019-01-01 to 2019-12-31 Blurb: Working with Richard Axel's lab at Columbia University, we developed axel-lab-to-nwb, a pipelin for converting their whole-brain fly two photon neurophysiology to NWB.
...
We don't need any images per entry. Can you please propose a design for this? This should be separate from our Projects page, which would focus on engagements with funding sources and would link to specific client engagements. In order for that to work, each client information section should be individually linkable. It would be fine to have these client sections on individual pages as long as there is an index that shows many of them at a time (maybe 20 at a time, paginated?)
I'd rather have all texts contained within a rich text field as it is here, since each blurb will be linking out to different types of things.
The current content of the "Client" section would go in a new section, called "Projects"
Projects should be a separate item under the "Services" tab in the main menu. It should lead to an index page of Projects, e.g.
Name: SCGB and SCPAB NWB Adoption Client: Simons Foundation Dates: 2019-2024 Description: CatalystNeuro has been working with labs in the Simons Collaboration on the Global Brain (SCGB) for 5 years, and the Simons Foundation Plasticity and the Aging Brain for 2 years. In this project, we work with neurophysiology labs that are supported by these collaborations, helping them build custom pipelines to standardize and publish their data, and to integrate NWB into the lab's analysis tools. This project has provided the opportunity to work with a large number of influential neurophysiology research groups from some of the leading research institutes in the United States:
2019 Richard Axel, Columbia University
2000 Beth Buffalo, University of Washington
2021 Carlos Brody, Princeton Tony Movshon, New York University David Tank, Princeton
2022 Misha Ahrens, Janelia
2023 Mehrdad Jazayeri, MIT Mala Murthy, Princeton Lucas Pinto, Northwestern
2024 Andrew Leifer, Princeton James DiCarlo, MIT
Name: Neurodata Without Borders Dissemenation Client: Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Dates: 2000-2025 Description: CatalystNeuro is partnering with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in a U24 project led by Oliver Ruebel to disseminate Neurodata Without Borders to the broader neuroscience community...
Name: DANDI Client: MIT Dates: 2019 - 2029 Description: CatalystNeuro is working with MIT, Dartmouth, and Kitware to build and maintain the DANDI Archive, an archive for neurophysiology data that facilitates open data and reuse of data in neurophysiology...
Name: VAME Client: UCSF Gladstone Dates: 2024 Description: We are working with the Palop Lab at UCSF Gladstone to provide software engineering services to VAME. Our goal is to make this software robust with proper packaging, documentation, and testing frameworks, and to build a no-code app so the software can be run by neuroscientists with less programming experience.
(each of these should be a link to a Client page)
So, should the menu look like this?
Home Mission Portfolio -Software -Client Services -Projects Team Work with us Blog
When you click on each project on the Project page, it will open the respective Client page. Is that what you want?
The navbar should be:
Home Mission Portfolio -Software -Clients -Projects Team Work with us Blog
When you click on each project on the Project page, it will open the respective Client page. Is that what you want?
No, here is what I mean:
Clicking Portfolio > Clients should bring you to a Clients index page that lists all (or many / paginated) of the clients. Clicking each client should bring you to a dedicated page for that client that includes the description of that client.
Clicking Portfolio > Projects should bring you to a Projects index page that lists all (or many / paginated) of the projects. Clicking each project should bring you to a dedicated page for that project that includes the description of that project. The description needs to be rich text so it can include links to specific client pages associated with that project.
Portfolio > Software can remain as-is, except that it would be nice if the individual software items had anchors that made them linkable so I could link from Projects to specific Software items.
Services is a separate feature. I really just need a single page for that but let's discuss that in a separate thread.
Do you want to keep this section on the new Client page?
yes, I would like to keep this
We now have had ~40 clients from many of the leading research institutions. I think this is a big selling point when pitching new clients so I would like the website to display this easily and at a glance. The problem with the current layout is that you would need to flip through these client pages one by one. I want an index page for clients that shows all of them at once. The client page design could stay the same but we would add a clients index page, which could be as simple as a list of labs and their institutions where each is a link to the page that describes that client interaction.
Here is the current list:
