Live streaming does not work properly

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.open npr app on Samsung note 3 with android version 4.3 with a fine wifi or 
connection from the service provider (issue happens both ways)
2.try to stream a live feed (all podcasts ie cartalk etc work fine)
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect uninterrupted stream. However the stream after the initial announcement 
(commercial) is broken beyond being able to listen to it.

Other streaming apps work with no problem and even streaming anything other 
than a live feed works fine in the npr app 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
using ver 2.5.1 on android version 4.3

Please provide any additional information below.

Have no other device to test android app on. However, streaming works fine on 
my iphone 5s 

any help would be appreciated

Went to Verizon store and tested on another Samsung note 3 had same results. 
Proving it is not specific to my phone

After more testing it appears that the problem happens at exactly 30 seconds
