With the latest release, the game crashes a few seconds after running. With earlier releases, the utilities don't work. No crash information is shared and no errors occur when it doesn't work.

Well you know, I did this for myself at the time when I was playing this game. It works by modifying little bits of data at very precise locations. On a different release these locations can and do change a lot. The program then is no more hitting precise locations, but instead it's like changing random values in the game memory. This can wreak havoc on the game, or do nothing at all. You can consider this little thingie as a basic proof of concept, showing some of the techniques that the more advanced cracks usually use. Naturally if someone wants to fork it and make it work with current releases, that would be the best.
