Old YT channel names not supported anymore? #139

I have an old YouTube account that got merged into my Google account, but I opted to keep the name on the YT account separate from the one on the Google account. When I log into sanegrid now, instead of the YT account name connected to my Google account (https://www.youtube.com/user/0bb0g), it shows one of the new randomly generated channel names (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCboT4lELSksDLWS5acB7Ilw), which refers to the same channel, but doesn't allow me to use the sanegrid.

I also have that setup and choosing my old name from the profile selection let's me use it just fine.

Do keep in mind that I'm still not done with the new account stuff, so maybe wait a little until it's ready?

FYI

@gobbo1008 you don't have a YouTube account, you have a Google account with YouTube enabled (but not Google+).

@daviddeutsch the APIv3 prefers ChannelIDs over custom URLs/user names.

@LEOXDmtar Yeah, tell me about it. Navigating through the mess of different user, video and channel IDs is mostly what made me take so long.

@LEOXDmtar I've had my YouTube account and channel since before YT was acquired by Google, and when the account system got unified, I was prompted to merge my accounts. No idea what's going on beyond that, so it might be a Google account with YT enabled. shrugs

@daviddeutsch My bad, the message didn't show for me.

I deleted the 2 Google+ pages that were on my Google account, since both of them were unlinked from my channel and essentially dead weight, and now that my channel is the only thing in the list, it seems to work for some odd reason. Nevermind the ticket, error seems to be contained between chair and keyboard.

:bow: Understood. Glad things seem to be working for you. In the past, a lot of people were left out of using sanegrid because of the channel name restriction. Seems like this will finally be a thing of the past soon!
