Wifi doesnt seem to work after update &dist-upgrade #43

Im using a Pi3 and on the first boot its running the wifi setup, "apt-get update" and "apt-get dist-upgrade" (and installs a few packages). now while its downloading those packages i can scan for the pi3 with an ip scanner, but as soon as it reboots it doesnt work anymore. could it be because of the first two commands?
