De-face not present

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. It is always there

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The button for the de-face is grayed out and i can't click it.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
version 2.0.1, windows 7 OS, google chrome browser

Please provide any additional information below.
It was working before and after a recent update (the one where the UI changed) 
the de-face button is grayed out. Please help this was my favorite thing about 
google hangouts I'd like to be able to use it again

this is a problem for me too.  im on FireFox and the face is grey :( please 
look into this.

Maybe update the project homepage to reflect that this is deliberate given that 
it currently reads:

This project was not yet released? When it first came out I was able to use it; 
I had fun with one of my students by making my face The Laughing Man from a 
show we both happen to enjoy. It was suddenly greyed out the next day and I was 
sad.
