Poll: Worship Presentation Software and SongSelect Import? #6

Recently, I began writing an import tool for SongSelect.com (CCLI's
database). Our church currently uses openlp.org for displaying lyrics, etc
during our services. My initial goal is to write the import tool to grab
the SongSelect information and insert it into the openlp.org SQLite database.

I began working on a project called openworship (openworship.sf.net). The
code I was given to begin with was very basic. It lacks a lot of the
functionality already within worship.planner.qr.

If I write this import utility, I realize now that it might be better to
write it so that it stores all information found in SongSelect about a
particular song. The data would be saved into the main program's database
(openworship/worshipplanner/etc). From there, it could be exported/synced
into openlp.org format/database, opensong.org format, OpenOffice.org
Impress, M$ Powerpoint, EasyWorship, SongShow Plus, etc.

So, what do you guys use for your presentation of lyrics, scripture, etc in
church? Is this something you would like to see in worship.planner.qr?

(Note, I am in the process of talking with SongSelect/CCLI's VP of IT about
official approval to make this import tool available. So far, appears there
won't be an issue.)

(Also, is there a mailing list, Google group or forum for this project?)

My church just used PowerPoint. I recently moved and don't know what my new
church
uses. I think it would be very valuable to go to an open source solution that
tied
in to CCLI and an online collaborative environment like WPQR, which in turn
could
interface somehow with your presentation software.

I've had several questions about importing songs from CCLI in to WPQR, so I
think
this feature would be well-received!
