It's not much use to return just a string as the string has to be parsed and that string can change. We need uniquely defined returned codes.
Why has the world decided return codes are not required anymore ? I think the developer community has forgotten some of the lessons learned in the past, serves them right for RA'ing the experienced people now they have to learn it all over again.
