According to http://gnuradio.org/redmine/projects/gnuradio/wiki/Octave once a basic system for capturing raw data from the telescope is configured using GNURadio, the DSP side of things can be performed within Octave or Python.

Capturing data at a sample rate of 44.1kHz and a bandwidth of 2MHz costs: Minute: 215MB Hour: 12.900GB Day: 309.600GB
