Android Home Screen Remote Widget

I would love to see an XBMC remote home-screen widget.  I would imagine this 
has been suggested but I didn't find it.  

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Standard play/stop/left/right/select remote that is currently in the xbmc 
remote program and is fantastic on a home-screen.  I would absolutely give up a 
full home screen to get a full size remote without having to open up the 
program.

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?
0.8.3-beta1

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
Currently using rooted stock droid incredible(with sense)

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
9.11 on Windows 7 64bit

Please provide any additional information below.
Just a big thank you to the developers.  This is an amazing app for an amazing 
media player - fantastic work.

The attached patch is a minimal implementation of a home-screen widget.  It's 
my first attempt at Android development, but it works on my HTC Evo.
