Queueing a song restarts the playlist playback #694

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Queue a song;the entire album is added to the playlist (hate that)
2.Queue another song; Currently playing song stops and playback restarts at the
beginning of the first song.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Current playback should be unaffected and the queued song simply added to the
playlist

What version of XBMC Remote are you using?
Remote v1.0.9,

Which Android device are you using (and which ROM, if custom)?
Acer A500; android v4.0.3

Which XBMC revision are you running and on which platform?
XBMC 12

Please provide any additional information below.

I have the same issue. Queueing a song with android remote music library,
resets the playlist to the first number on the list, while queueing a song with
the remote (using the app as remote control on the TV) works as expected.

Using app version 1.0.9, revision 1009.
XBMC version 12.0 stable on windows.

That's pretty much my experience word for word. XBMC remote 1.0.9 rev 1009 on
HTC Evo 4G, Android 4.0.3, XBMC 12 on Windows.

Same problem here, but a workaround is to first play a single song, then queue
additional songs.

However an additional issue surfaces: queued songs are played, but then a
single song will often start to loop indefinitely.

Using Frodo final release and remote 1.0.9 build 1009 on Galaxy III, Motorola
RAZR and Galaxy Y (i.e. it's not hardware-specific).

Same here.

raspberry Pi.

Me to.

Queing any track forces a restart of the entire playlist.

XBMC remote 1.0.9 rev. 1009 XBMC Frodo.

This is still happening, and pretty much ruins the usefulness of the remote.
Can a developer at least comment on this?

Quote #9 @ Paddy brilliant thanks. To all who are having issues with the office
XBMC remote, move to Yatse. It actually works, Queues music and everything,
thanks. The GUI is not so good but it works.

Thanks.

Tried Yatse first based on star ratings and feature list, however I prefer the
UI of this one, so switched. Everything was working fine until this bug - which
is a disaster and makes the remote unusable. Using latest versions of app and
remote, as of date of posting.

I have Issue 2 too. I did not notice Issue 1 (perhaps they fixed this in
version 12.3 ? )

My hardware / software used:
Asus laptop with XBMC 12.3 (Frodo stable release)
Samsung Galaxy S III, Android 4.3, XBMC remote app v1.0.9 Revision 1009

When I queu a song from my mobile, it will just queu one song, so that works ok
in my situation. But when I do, my playlists starts playing from the first
song, and starts the first song again every time. This happens every time when
I queu a song from my XBMC remote app. When I queu a song from XBMC using my
computer, then the playlist just continues playing, so that works fine.

I tested this on my Desktop computer as well, same issue there.

But I have found a workaround that worked for me:

-Start XBMC on computer
-Go to Music
-Open Files
-I have added folders using Windows SMB share which I want to use. I do not use
the library to play songs, but you need to scan at least a few songs to your
library for this ( for instance one album)
-Then go to music > files
-Open the menu on the left side
-Select Library mode (this is only available when you have music in your
library)
-Now Party mode will be visible. Start party mode.
-Open Now playing view in XBMC
-Now you should be able to Queu songs from XBMC remote without the playlist
restarts, but songs will automaticly be choosen by XBMC and added to the
playlist.
-If you disable Party Mode again, queuing songs keeps working from XBMC remote
-DONT use the CLEAR button for the playlist, you will have the same issue again!

These steps helped for me. Hope this will be a workaround for you guys too...

Same Issue, also happens when playing/queuing video files. I know this is kind
of a +1 reply but it has not been mentioned that it also happens with video. So
forgive me if I am an idiot.
