I tried to use the provided package in the release but it failed.

Model : DS220j DSM version : DSM 7.0.1-42218 CPU : Realtek RTD1296 SoC

Since this repo has only been last updated in 2018 (!) it's very likely that it doesn't support DSM 7.+ yet.
