Fix OpenWatcom compile warnings #226

Fix all the easily fixable compile warnings as found by OpenWatcom 1.9

Before merging:

[x] Check the code builds for OS/2
[x] Check it builds with all normally supported windows-targeting compilers
[x] Check the shared bits (cku, ckc) build fine on at least linux
[ ] Ideally check the shared bits build fine on Solaris too given we can test that.
[x] Ideally check the shared bits on x86 VMS too
[x] Upstream changes
