Sometimes every printing character is followed by a No-Break Space #239

Reported by Frank:

[sometimes] CKW displayed text in a fractured way, where every printing character is followed by a No-Break Space, can happen with almost any command. For example it happened to me yesterday when I gave a REMOTE HELP command to CKW for the server; the result came back with embedded no-break spaces. There's no pattern to this; it happens rarely, but it can happen any time CKW is in "local mode" (i.e. the command screen), apparently with any command that displays text: TYPE, REMOTE HELP, etc.
