The Dialer used to ship preloaded with a bunch of templates and connections to places that no longer exist. We don't currently include any of this stuff, but it would probably be useful to include a selection of templates again.
When we've got some templates, this section in the user manual should be uncommented and updated:
The Dialer comes with several entries preloaded, plus a selection of Templates you can use to quickly "clone" new entries of your own, e.g. an SSH connection to Linux, a Telnet connection to Solaris, a dialup connection to a BBS. Each connection is represented by a line in the main (white) window consisting of a little icon, a name, a location, and a phone number or network address. The entries are listed alphabetically by name.
And also update the table of templates in the section Adding a New Entry ("As delivered, the Dialer includes the following templates, from which you can clone new entries:")
The old templates were:
[ ] DEFAULT
Telnet default template
AIX - SSH
AIX - Telnet
Dialup - ANSI
Dialup - VT100
Direct Connect
[ ] FTP
HP-UX - SSH
HP-UX - Telnet
[ ] Linux - SSH
Linux - Telnet
SCO - SSH
SCO - Telnet
[ ] Solaris - SSH
[ ] Solaris - Telnet
[ ] VMS - SSH
[ ] VMS - Telnet
[ ] VT100 - SSH
[ ] VT100 - Telnet
And the preloaded connections were:
IBM Info Exchange (FTP)
The Kermit Project IKS
Might be worth re-adding VMS (SSH and Telnet), Linux (SSH) and Solaris (SSH and Telnet) as I have these handy to test against. Could add Digital UNIX too I guess.
