Comparative statics #44

@markeschaffer and @PaulSeabright

I forgot to mention that I can get the computer to derive closed form expressions for the comparative statics on any particular equilibrium if this would be of interest. Would we care about having an expression for, say, the marginal impact on equilibrium number of male adults with genotype GA wrt a change in a model parameter?

Yes, definitely. Do you mean closed form analytical expressions or numerical values? But yes either way.

@markeschaffer

I can provide both. However I suspect that the closed form solution will be enormously ugly and lacking in intuition.

PaulSeabright commented 9 years ago

Thanks, this is a good idea and like you I suspect that the numerical values will be more useful than the analytical expressions.

The parameter with respect to which the comparative statics exercize will be most illuminating is e. And the equilibrium to try it for is the interior one in alpha.
