Anki Mode and Combine Meaning + Reading Setting has unpredictable behavior with Katakana vocab

I have been having unpredictable behavior that where when reviewing, the "Vocabulary Meaning + Reading" bar will switch from white to black, though this only occurs when my review stack contains kana only vocab "おはよう" or "ホテル" for example.

When this is on black, it doesn't speak the audio.

Black would indicate a reading and white would indicate a meaning, which explains the differing audio behavior.

I figured as much. It appears one or both of the modes were not updated to take into account vocab items without a reading review.
