How do we use this tool with the newer style "Shortcut to Drive" shared folders?

when google used to "add to my Drive" these shared folders work like any other folder and the tool changes owners perfectly.

but it dosnt seem to see the shortcuts?

"add to my Drive " still exists if that's useful to your use case (https://support.google.com/drive/thread/37403099?hl=en)

It's not an answer to your question but may help
