no login prompt #13

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. insert usb drive
2. press menu + '-'
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
login prompt with telnet access expected. The USB boots fine and loads up
linux but then seems to hang. Some of the log output looks like this (left
part of the screen is cut off):
started: Busybox v1.9.1 (2008...
...ing init.d/rcS
...boot=patchstick -- searching for patchstick.sh
...0: unknown operand
...boot=auto/manual patchstick failed -- starting telnetd

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
created boot disk as per:
http://code.google.com/p/atv-bootloader/wiki/LinuxUSBPenBoot
ATV v2.0

Please provide any additional information below.
Have had the same results with a number of patchstick images.  Have
completed a number of factory restores

need a wired connection and a dhcp server present.

need to telnet in a do a "ls -l /dev/sd*" so see the device list. Some USB 
device will not preserve the proper 
device partitions.

telnet.
