Chaning resolution might break launch of XBMC/Boxee #42

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. change resolution in Frontrow
2. start XBMC

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
XBMC should come to front, but sometimes it doesn't.
Finder seems to need a restart after resolution changes, or something in
Launcher is screwed up.

One possible solution is to check for resolution changes and instead of
launching XBMC when there
was one, prompt the user to restart ATV/restart Finder.

Same issue. On ATV v3.02 and latest boxee
i changed to a new 2010 Samsung LED tv. First thing I did when i was in ATV was
change the rez to 1080p. No prob. When i launched boxxe i get the white flash
but screen goes black but i do hear boxee chiming away via audio and can use
the remote blindly.

rebooted and switched ATV rez back to original 720p. Still same issue as above.

its as if the TV cant get the HDMI signal that boxee is sending.
please let me now if you require additional details.

First thing I'd try is to change the resolution, restart the ATV and then try
to launch Boxee or XBMC

thnx stephan....that did it. I feel like a dork for not actually doing a hard
boot after the rez change.
I did a few tests once I got it to work and the takeaway is that whenever you
do a rez change just hard boot the ATV right after the change. Once rebooted,
launcher works perfect and the HDMI signal is held.

thnx again
