flash doesn't work, apple tv doesn't start any more #51

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. No way to reproduce the problem
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- I've created the ATV USB Launcher
- I powered down my Apple TV
- I plugged the created USB sticj in my apple TV and restarted the apple TV
- My TV sreen remains black
- I removed the USB stick from the apple TV, powered the apple tv down and up. 
AppleTV doesn't start any more

Is there any way to recover my apple tv?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
AppleTV 3.0.2

Please provide any additional information below.

Got the same issue... want to install Flash 10+
Required for youtube and many other application in Boxee and Xbmc

I have the same error, just tried to install ATV (I think thats what its 
called) and now the box wont load the menu

ok, i think I have fixed it (or at least a work around)...here are the steps:

1. On the (white) remote that came with your Apple TV, Hold "Menu" and the "-" 
for 6 seconds untils the light on the front of the device changes and the 
device resets.

2. the machine should start again in a few seconds, you will then be prompted 
to select which language you want.

3. after you have selected which language you want, another screen will apear 
asking if you want to "reset", "run diagnostics", or "restore factory 
settings". I selected "restore factory settings"

4. After this it asked me to join a wireless network and I had to reconfigure 
it to join my itunes, then I was back at the menu.

Let me know if this works for you as well?
