Boxee/XBMC #251

I'd like it if the next version of the usb-creator could give the Boxee and
XBMC installs in separate options while retaining the other three in their
entirety.

I've read several forum posts in other locations stating that they'd like
to be able to install Boxee without XBMC because they won't ever use it.

I'm of the same mind, however, I'd like to retain the Software Menu.

I can only comment from Launcher's view:
XBMC and Boxee are handled both in Launcher because it's easy and convenient
for us. There are ways to
manually disable the menu entries, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort (IIRC
howtos for it are in both xbmc and
boxee forums). Please keep in mind that this has no other effect than the menu
entry disappears. They do not
take disk-space. xbmc / boxee is only installed if you do it through downloads.

I understand what's being said; however, that's really not the point that I was
trying to make.

Since they both end up being displayed in the Launcher menu, is it not easy
enough to
have a script in the install process that searches out that menu .plist file and
updates it with the necessary information or creates it if it doesn't exist?

I suggest this so that Boxee can be installed independent of XBMC and vice
versa.
