Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I follow the steps to make the patchstick
2. I get an error "Could not unmount disk"
3. Repeat

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

This is the error message I get:

"2Z694-5660-029.dmg selected
Creating USB Flash Disk...
  umount_disk settling delay (10 seconds)
  partition the target disk
Unable to partition device: Started partitioning on disk disk1
Creating partition map

Partitioning encountered error on disk disk1: Could not unmount disk (-10000)
Could not unmount disk for zeroing
  partition_disk failed
Failed! (0:00:13)"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I'm using atvusb-creator-1.0.b10
The dmg file I'm using is 2Z694-5660-029.dmg
My OS is 10.5.8
I'm using a Sandisk 2GB cruzer

Please provide any additional information below.

I've tried 4 different USB sticks and 2 different Macbooks and same thing
happens

Here are a couple of things to try:

I note your USB is a Sandisk. I am presuming this is bundled with U3. Get rid
of it
as it interferes with the patchstick process. It messes up the partitions.

Try restoring your Apple TV and trying again. The issue may not necessarily be
with
your USB.

It can be difficult to remove U3 fully on a Mac. You could try using the
Windows
version of the patchstick creator which may help in this instance.

Let me know how it goes.
