Any special steps once patched or just the normal process like I did last time
(a
year or so ago) ?
I saw some mention of manually updating something once patched and wasnt sure
if that
is still needed.
Thanks!!

If you're using the Mac version you'll want to update Launcher and Software
Menu as
they're a bit out of date.
Take a look at issue #411

Sorry- I am not a noob but I guess I need a little info yet. issue 411 is
pretty
long and convoluded...
Do I select the 3.0.1 DMG when I make the patchstick the first time and then
boot
with that patchstick?
It would basically be nice to have a little step by step process described
somewhat... I know you are busy...

Hey,
If you're using 3.0.1 Firmware then yep, use a 3.0.1 FW based patchstick. All
you
need to do is update Launcher, which is simple as. After you patchstick, we can
update your payloads with SSH. Just use this script (got from awkwardtv but
updated
to use 3.22 ver of XBMCLauncher).
wget http://atv-xbmc-launcher.googlecode.com/files/Launcher-3.2.2-debug.run
scp Launcher-3.2.2-debug.run frontrow@appletv.local:/Users/frontrow
rm Launcher-3.2.2-debug.run
ssh frontrow@appletv.local
chmod +x Launcher-3.2.2-debug.run ; ./Launcher-3.2.2-debug.run
I am busy, but it's not a problem honestly. Good luck :)

OK so when you say use a 3.0.1 FW based patchstick- you just mean I need to
download
the 3.0.1 ATV DMG from somewhere and select that file in the "Choose DMG" field
of
the patchstick creator... is that right?
Thanks!

Yes sir! aTV 3.01 firmware can be found by going to mesu.apple.com page or the
awkward tv wiki where the DMG url is listed.
