Hello,
look there http://code.google.com/p/atvusb-creator/wiki/atvWinPatchstickGuide
Patching the Apple TV
It can't really get much simpler than this. Now that you have a flash drive
with the
modified image on it, you need to put it in the Apple TV. Hold MENU and -
buttons
while doing this to force the Apple TV to begin the recovery process. This will
kick
off the search for mass storage devices with recovery information.
Next, you should see Linux boot and a few commands scroll by. After a minute or
two
this will be done and you should be able to see a message telling you that it
is
possible to now restart your Apple TV. Before doing this though, remove the
patchstick.
If you wish to restore your stick back to a backup, plug it back in the machine
and
use the same restore technique as you did before, however this time restoring
the
backup you created.

Huh! At last.. 'guido.baske' i saw this page earlier.
The reason is the drive(kingston 1gb). I bought another flash drive and now it
works
great !

Make a patchstick with Choose DMG,
wget the latest Launcher build and install it via ssh (frontrow:frontrow)

Sam,
I'm new here, and am running Mac and my ATV is at 3.0.2. I'm into it via SSH,
but honestly, I'm not sure how to
do this 'wget the latest Launcher build and install it via ssh ' stuff. I can't
find anything here, but is there a issue,
or some sort of link, that outlines this?
Thanks.

By wget I mean download. See issue #411 there are copy & paste SSH commands.

I used my old patchstick which installs the 3.1 launcher and then just upgraded
from
within the launcher menu with that. The same patchstick worked just fine.

We've got patchstick software working for both platforms. Issue closed.
