Patchstick on ATV 3.0.2 with upgraded HD not working #511

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Upgraded ATV internal 40 GB HD with 500 GB HD
2. Factory restore to ATV 1.0, upgraded to ATV 3.0.2
3. Create patchstick with atv-win-30, rebooted ATV with USB key, patchstick
procedure executed but no Laucnher Menu on ATV after reboot

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
On ATV reboot at the end of the patchstick execution Log I see an error:
"errpr mounting Media partition". Not sure it is related.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Using ATV 3.0.2 and atv-win-30 to create patchstick.

Please provide any additional information below.
I extarcted the 500 GB HD from the ATV and run the diskutil command:
/dev/disk1
   #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
   0: GUID_partition_scheme *500.1 GB disk1
   1: EFI 35.7 MB disk1s1
   2: Apple_HFS Media 498.6 GB disk1s2
   3: Apple_HFS OSBoot 943.7 MB disk1s3
   4: Apple_Recovery 419.4 MB disk1s4

I am not sure if the patchstick is expecting a specific order in the
partitions which is causing the issue

My order is:

0: GUID_partition_scheme *37.3 Gi disk3
1: EFI 34.0 Mi disk3s1
2: Apple_Recovery 400.0 Mi disk3s2
3: Apple_HFS OSBoot 900.0 Mi disk3s3
4: Apple_HFS Media 35.8 Gi disk3s4

If I were you I would create a bootdisk, run telnetd and use gpart to fix up
your
drive issues (rebuild all partitions)

Thanks for the advice. As I removed the disk from the ATV, what is the guidance
to
run gpart ?
Should I follow the instructions here:
http://code.google.com/p/atv-bootloader/wiki/ATVBackup ?
