What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Insert USB Flashdrive
2. Launch ATVUSB-Creator
3. Click "Refresh" USB Target device list several times
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected the USB stick to be recognized by atvusb-creator. The result is that
it is not.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mac version 1.0-b12 (though the download stated 1.0-b13)
Mac OS X 10.6.3 (has been a problem since 1.0-b10 running on Mac OS X 10.5)
Please provide any additional information below.
I did manage to get it to work once under 10.5 a long time ago, and never have
been able to get
it to work again (even using the same USB stick). I have reformatted the USB
stick several ways,
including MBR > Free Space to wipe out the EFI partition. I have used at least
5 different brands
of 1 and 2GB USB sticks (all reputable - e.g. PNY, Imation, SanDisk…). I have
rebooted,
unplugged all other USB devices, have switched to a newer Mac since (late 2008
Macbook Pro). I
have even tried running the Windows version under Parallels, but I can not get
past the PK7zip
unarchiving). Is there a special trick? Song and Dance? Mantra? that needs to
be done to get the
USB stick to be recognized?
To answer a possible question: If I got it to work once and have patched my
ATV, why do I need
a new stick? Well, updating the Launcher a while back completely wiped out my
menus - where I
could not even reinstall any of the frappliances. I have since wiped the ATV
and updated to 3.01
software. Now I am really missing my ability to just FTP avi files over to it
and watch them, rather
than run all my videos through an h.264 conversion first.
