Apple TV Won't work - Githubissues

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I tried to update some of the software after successfully installing the USB 
patch'
2. During one update, the screen went black and there was a message that the 
update had failed 
and to press the play/pause button
3. I pressed play/pause but the screen remained dark.

I tried to reinstall the USB patchstick. The ATV started up again, but then 
just went blank.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected the software to update. Now after the Apple TV starts up, I get the 
intro music and 
graphics, then it just goes black.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Apple TV, OSX
Please provide any additional information below.
 I forget which software update I was doing.

Just to add to this: I was doing the software menu update. I managed to do a 
factory reset of the ATV, but had 
the same problem when I tried the Software Menu update.

Did you install atvFiles by any chance ;)

This problem, and it's solution is well documented. See issue #429
